Today we went to the races! We had a great time wandering around all the vendors. Everything cost an arm and a leg. Thank goodness our tickets were FREE! It was kinda hot and the sun was beating down on us most of the afternoon, but we had a good time anyway. Our favorite driver, #17 Matt Kenseth, almost won the race, but that dirty scoundrel, Jeff Gordon, bumped his car on the 264th lap and screwed it all up! Oh well, that's how it goes at the races! Here are some pics for you!

Wow! Dad will be so impressed. I especially like Matthew's ear protectors. Did you and Steve have any ear protection? We watched the race on TV and agree with you--it seems like some NASCAR races are like bumper cars--see if you can bump one and knock it out of the running. The commentators mentioned several times that this has happened in previous races also, but with other drivers, too. The other tactic is blocking, which is what Jeff Gordon accused Matt Kenseth of doing, I believe, twice in this race, that prevented JG from moving forward or up in his position at the time,
ReplyDeleteDirty, but profitable business, for the winners and point leaders!

Dear Kristen, Steve, and Matt, after seeing these pictures at the races, I have to get that lunch box with the nascar from Chicago in the mail, pronto haste. It is so nice to see those pictures, again and again. Thank you. Love, Llew
ReplyDeleteI wondered if you were going to go to that when I heard it was the USG Sheetrock 400. Wow, look at those stands, that just boggles my mind at all the people...
